I like one of the tours on your site. How do I find out what dates it runs?

The itineraries we display are designed to show the different types of tours which are possible. They are not scheduled tours and do not run on set dates. Any part of our Tours can be incorporated into your own custom vacation. A Bronze & Boru staff member would be happy to help you with this.

I have a budget for my holiday. Should I mention this to my tour planner?

Please do. The more information you can give your tour planner the better. The price of a custom vacation can fluctuate greatly depending on the length of the holiday, the standard of accommodation, and the number of people traveling. Informing your tour planner of your budget will make their job easier.

Do you book flights in/out of Ireland?

Unfortunately not.

What is included/excluded in the Tour?

All our tours include a personal driver for all your transportation requirements in Ireland, including transfers to and from your airport of choice. Entrance to attractions is also normally not included, but you can purchase a Heritage Card which gives discounts to most public attractions in Ireland. Driver’s expenses, fuel and parking tolls etc., as well as all related touring expenses are covered in your tour. Driver gratuity is not included in the tour price.

What’s the best time of year to visit Ireland?

All things considered, we think the best time to visit is in spring and fall, when the weather falls in between bad and good, but you get lower-than-high-season prices and the crowds have yet to descend.

What kind of clothes should I bring?

Make sure to bring a warm coat if coming in the winter. Irish weather is very changeable so you need to be prepared for all eventualities! Often you can get all four seasons in one day. The easiest thing is to bring layers & include something waterproof. Comfortable shoes or sneakers are always a good idea for long days of touring.

Do people tip in Ireland?

Tipping in Ireland is quite different to other countries. It is standard to tip a waiter/waitress 10%-15% on your meal but very uncommon to tip a bartender. Normally a small tip for porters & chambermaids is appreciated but again depends on quality of service. Guideline for driver gratuity is €50 – €100 per day, but this in entirely at your own discretion and depends on level of service received.

How long is a touring day on average?

This is completely dependent on how much you would like to do in a day. Normally a typical full day is 8hours. We try to plan your trip so you won’t have to spend anymore than 3 hours driving in one block.

Can you explain the standard room/bed sizes in Ireland?

Sometimes the terminology relating to room types can result in confusion. When you stay at a hotel, B&B or self-catering vacation rental in Ireland, the following definitions apply to room types:

  • Single Room: A room for 1 person, normally with a Single bed but sometimes with a double bed
  • Double Room: A room for two people sharing 1 bed
  • Twin Room: Room for 2 people with separate beds (normally 2 x single beds)
  • Triple Room: Room for 3 people
  • Superior or Deluxe Room: A larger room but not necessarily with a larger bed

Where will our driver meet us?

Your driver guide will welcome you at the airport unless requested otherwise. Having one of our drivers with you throughout your journey is key to maximising your vacation experience.

Will U.S power sockets work in Ireland?

The electrical supply in Ireland is 230v 50hz. The plugs and sockets are different from the USA involving a three-pronged formation, the same as those used in the United Kingdom. If your appliances operate on a different current (such as those from North America) you may need a power converter and plug adapter. These can be purchased at the airport.

I’m looking to research my Ancestry. Will my driver be able to aid in my search?

Of course, your driver will try and accommodate any search you have. Please notify your trip planner with any information you have about the research you intend to do. This allows us to factor it into your custom itinerary.

Will my credit cards work in Ireland?

Mastercard, Visa and most debit cards are widely accepted in Ireland. You may have problems finding places that accept American Express, Discover or Diners Club Cards. However, it is important to note that Ireland now uses Chip & Pin verification instead of swipe and sign. Bring at least one card with a chip and make sure you know your 4 digit pin. It is always a good idea to notify your bank before you travel.
